Publishing an article under an “Open Access” model encompasses the following key points:
- Readers are not required to pay any charges to publishers, as articles are accessible without price barriers.
- Articles are published as Open Access, becoming immediately available without an embargo period.
- Anyone can use, reproduce, or distribute either a portion or an entire article without permission, provided that no substantive errors are introduced, and proper credit is given to the original copyright holder, cited as a reference.
- After publication, the author is free to share and publicize the article with students or colleagues.
