For Authors

TMP publishes open access scholarly publications. Every journal maintains a rigorous, fast-paced, peer-reviewed manuscript handling and editing process.

TMP journals are the ideal venue for you to quickly and easily publish your work under an open access license. Because our journals are open access, they are widely read and indexed in the leading databases.

As an open access publisher, our mission is to make new research findings accessible to everyone. We provide services to scholars from diverse backgrounds and all across the world. Our goal is to create publications that are equally inclusive and diverse in order to enhance our understanding of the research communities we serve. Only by valuing differences can we create an equitable and inclusive work environment and foster the openness that is key to our mission.

From the beginning, the daily flow of ideas between the East and the West has been essential to TMP’s development. We recognize that diversity is not limited to that. In order to create equitable chances for people regardless of their race, colour, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, place of origin, physical ability, or socioeconomic situation, more work needs to be done to close the gap between the global North and South. Discrimination based on any one of these attributes is not tolerated.

Comprehensive English Editing:

Authors are responsible for submitting their work in correct English. The APC covers only minor English editing, conducted by native speakers. Extensive English editing is not included in the APC. If substantial editing is necessary, your paper may be returned during the English editing stage, potentially causing publication delays. To avoid this, consider having your work reviewed by an experienced English-speaking colleague or using a paid language-editing service before submission. We provide rapid English editing services completed within one day through Author Services. Vouchers acquired for peer review can be used to cover the cost of professional English editing from Author Services.

General Peer-Review and Editorial Procedure:

All manuscripts submitted for publication in our journals undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by experts, which includes research and review articles, spontaneous submissions, and invited papers. Upon receipt, the Managing Editor of the journal performs a technical pre-check to assess the manuscript’s suitability. The academic editor is then notified of the submission and invited to conduct an editorial pre-check.

Following the initial checks, the Editorial Office organizes the peer-review process, engaging independent experts to provide at least two review reports for each manuscript. To ensure transparency and keep authors updated on the review progress, a preliminary version of the reviewers’ reports, obtained during the peer-review process, is accessible to authors via the Susy platform. Authors can monitor the content and the number of collected reviewer reports in real-time. It is important to note that these reports haven’t undergone academic editor scrutiny, so authors are advised against making revisions until the full editorial assessment is completed and an official notification is received from the Editorial Office.

Authors are encouraged to submit adequate revisions, including a second round of peer-review if necessary, before a final decision is reached. The ultimate decision is made by the academic editor, typically the Editor-in-Chief, an Editorial Board Member, or the Guest Editor of a Special Issue. Accepted articles undergo copy-editing and English editing processes.

Editorial Decision and Revision:

All articles, reviews, and communications published in TMP journals undergo a thorough peer-review process, receiving a minimum of two review reports. The in-house editor collaborates with the external academic editor at each stage of the process and conveys decisions to authors based on the following outcomes:

  1. Accept in Present Form: The paper is accepted without requiring further changes.
  2. Accept after Minor Revisions: The paper is conditionally accepted after minor revisions are made in response to the reviewer’s comments. Authors are allotted five days for these minor revisions.
  3. Reconsider after Major Revisions: Manuscript acceptance depends on the extent of revisions. The author must provide a detailed response or a rebuttal if certain reviewer comments cannot be addressed. Generally, up to two rounds of major revisions are allowed. Authors are requested to resubmit the revised paper within ten days, and the updated version is sent back to the reviewer for additional comments. If the necessary revision time is anticipated to exceed 2 months, authors may be advised to withdraw their manuscript before resubmitting to avoid unnecessary time pressure and ensure thorough revisions.
  4. Reject and Encourage Resubmission: Articles requiring additional experiments to support conclusions will be rejected, with authors encouraged to resubmit the paper once further experiments are conducted.
  5. Reject: The article, exhibiting serious flaws and making no original contribution, is rejected outright with no opportunity for resubmission to the journal
